Virginia Assistive Technology System (VATS)

VATS was established to assist disabled residents of Virginia in obtaining the necessary assistive technology to participate actively in society. Assistive technology can be used at home or at work, and ranges from wheelchair vans to stairlifts, and small to large devices.

Virginia Association of Area Agencies on Aging (VAAAA)

VAAAA assists the elderly in Virginia in meeting mobility and other requirements that arise with aging. There are many offices located throughout the state that serve specific counties.

Virginia Board for People with Disabilities

This is the state branch for the National Developmental Disabilities Council. It works to make Virginia a better place for people with developmental disabilities. Although it does not grant money to individuals, it can help you locate funding sources for your handicap van.

Virginia Department for Aging and Rehabilitative Services (DARS)

Virginia’s DARS assists older and disabled residents of the state to find and keep steady work.
