How much does the grant cover? – The money you can receive from this grant ranges from over $100 to $4,000 yearly, depending on how much money you want.

What should students do to keep the grant? Grantees must continue pursuing their undergraduate degree and must not have a bachelor’s degree.

Iraq and Afghanistan Service Grants – They offer financial support to college students to help pay their college expenses

How to apply? You must fill out a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form and submit it to your financial aid office.

How much does the grant cover? – The grant money ranges over $6 495 but must b reduced by 5.7%, or the applicant may not receive the grant money.

What should students do to keep the grant? Yearly, you must continue to fill out the FAFSA form, and the U.S. Department of Education will then study your form if you’re eligible for the grant.

Teacher Education Assistance for College and Higher Education (TEACH) Grant – This grant will require you to complete a service obligation to be admitted to this grant. Otherwise, this grant will become a loan with interest that you must repay.

How to apply? – You must fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form and pursue a college course covered by the TEACH grant.

How much does the grant cover? It has over $4,000 yearly funding, with a deduction of 5.7% given to students pursuing course work.

What should students do to keep the grant? – You must become a full-time highly-qualified teacher and finish the required four years of the service obligation for eight years.

CollegeXpress Community Service Scholarship for Multicultural Students – This is given to a student who has been active in community service. It has a budget of over $2,000 and must be an incoming freshman entering college in the upcoming fall semester.

The Tuwanna Marie Minority Scholarship Award – It has a budget of over $1,000 that will be given to qualified students for their use toward educational fees.

When do students repay a grants and how does grant repayment work?

Students start to repay a grant if they withdraw early from the grant, the enrollment status was changed, they received outside scholarships or grants, and they did not pass the TEACH Grant service obligation requirements. If they have to repay a portion of their funding, their school will inform them. After that, they’ll have 45 days to pay back that grant amount in whole or come up with a reasonable repayment plan. If a student applies for a satisfactory repayment arrangement, the school may proceed to appoint the debt to ED for collection or keep the debt and permit them to pay directly to the school. If the student fails to carry out the said option, they may lose their opportunity for federal student aid.
