New York offers cash grants to veterans who meet the requirements for the Temporary Assistance program. This program provides two types of cash assistance. First is Family Assistance (FA) that is designed to provide help for families who have at least one minor dependent child as a member of the household. However, the grant can only be received for 60 months. You have to meet the low income requirements in order to qualify for FA. The other program provided is called the Safety Net Assistance (SNA). This program is created for single adults or couples who do not have children. In order to qualify for SNA, you need to meet the work requirements. You can only receive SNA for two years.
