Lost Wages Grant for California

WASHINGTON—FEMA Administrator Pete Gaynor has approved California for a FEMA grant in the Lost Wages Assistance program. The FEMA grant will permit the state to give out $300 per week, in addition to their regular unemployment benefits for workers affected with COVID-19. The FEMA and the Governor of California Gavin Newsom will collaborate to create a system that makes this funding available for residents of California.

Former President Trump made up to $44 billion from FEMA’s Disaster Relief Fund accessible to provide financial assistance for Americans affected by the COVID-19 pandemic on August 8, 2020. Nowadays, California agreed to run a program to help its residents who lost their jobs due to COVID-19.
