Housing is usually the largest and most important household expense. One22’s Rent Assistance Program supports households in achieving greater financial stability by:
- Emergency financial assistance for rent
- Financial education
Households are allowed to request rent assistance for up to three times annually. Besides the emergency financial assistance, the Client Services team is available to assist you throughout the year with financial education topics to support your household and individual goals.

Who is eligible to receive rent assistance?
One22 encourages members of the community to use all resources available locally, state, and federally first. The Client Services team will be more than willing to assist you with this.
A household or individual who lives in Teton County, Wyoming may apply for financial assistance up to three times during a calendar year (January to December). This program assists those who have lost income/wages or are experiencing an unexpected rise in their expenses. One22 financial assistance programs were created to help households at or below 120% of Median Family Income (MFI). They will, however, consider extenuating circumstances. What are the requirements to receive financial assistance?
There are different requirements for each of the three requests for financial assistance that can be made in a given year. These requirements allow for financial conversations that support households in their quest to greater financial stability. For assistance with your request, call (307) 739-4500.
Request # 1: Connection
The Connection request assists everyone involved to get to know one another, understand your situation, and recommend appropriate resources for you and your family.
- You must submit an online request for financial assistance and attach:
- A copy of your lease, or a statement about current rent
- Documentation of household income
- Pay stub(s) which document earnings for all wage earners in the household over the past month
- Other income received during the month, such as Social Security, retirement or pension, public assistance, child support, unemployment benefit statement, and any other relevant income (including a letter from employer with details of hours worked and total pay for the past month)
- To discuss your situation and to connect you and your family with the right resources, you must have a phone consultation with a Client Services representative
Request # 2: Awareness
For the Awareness request, they will take a closer look at your current household budget and start to identify ways to improve your financial outlook.
- You must submit an online request for financial assistance with the required income and housing documentation described in Request #1.
- Meet with a member of the Client Services team in order to:
- Review or complete your household’s monthly income and expense budget, and your household’s assets (what you own) and debt (what you owe)
- Collaborate to find resources, options, and support services that will improve your household’s financial situation and overall well-being
Request #3: Looking Forward
The Looking Forward request is focused on working together to identify actions you can take to improve your financial outlook moving forward.
- You must submit an online request for financial assistance with the required income and housing documentation described in Request #1.
- Meet with a member of the Client Services team in order to:
- Review or complete your household’s monthly income and expense budget, and your household’s assets (what you own) and debt (what you owe)
- Collaborate to find resources, options, and support services that will improve your household’s financial situation and overall well-being
When is the deadline to submit a request?
Requests for financial assistance are due on the 5th or 20th of each month. Complete requests include:
- An online financial assistance request form;
- Supporting income and housing documentation;
- A meeting or conversation with a Client Services representative
You should plan to meet with or have a discussion with a Client Services representative and submit your request within the deadlines. Award notifications are made to the recipients within one week, and checks are usually available by the middle or beginning of the following month.
Are you able to help me as a homeowner?
As the financial assistance doesn’t cover mortgage costs, it is encouraged for homeowners to talk with their lender about their options. They may be able share information and resources that could help you, so please do not hesitate to contact them.

I have received and/or applied for unemployment benefits. Can I get rent assistance through One22?
One22 encourages applicants to access all of the resources available locally, state, and federally first. This includes unemployment benefits. They may be able to help you connect with these or any other resource that may assist. Rent assistance is available for application if unemployment benefits do not cover your basic needs for housing, food, medicine, and other needs.
We have moved to another county after losing our Teton County job. Can we apply?
You may be eligible to apply if you have lost your Teton County job and are currently unemployed. It can take time to find new employment. However, they require proof that you have worked previously in Teton County.
What types of expenses will the financial assistance cover?
They value keeping people in their homes and ensuring they have access to food, medicine, and other essentials. The landlord directly receives rent payments, and grocery store gift certificates, which can be used to purchase groceries, prescriptions, and gas.
What does One22 do to make financial assistance decisions?
Your income, family size, and access to other resources will all impact the rent assistance decision. The household’s gross monthly income and the monthly rent determine how much assistance you receive. One22 will pay the difference between 30% of your household’s recent monthly gross income and your monthly rent payment. This amount may be up to $2,000 per month for families with dependents, and up to $1,000 per month for households that don’t have dependents. Single parent households and those in need of individualized support are given special consideration.

I have received First/Last/Deposit Assistance. Can I apply for Rent Assistance?
The first/last/deposit program’s goal is to assist households in acquiring more affordable rental housing, so that their need for emergency financial assistance crucially decreases. However, every household’s situation is different. If you have been granted first/last/deposit assistance and are interested in rent assistance, please contact them.
