About Save-A-Life Thrift Store
The Save A-Life Thrift Store’s Mission is to raise enough funds from donated thrift store items in order to finance the spay/neutering of cats and dogs. They also support all programs of Herman Bennett Foundation, including low-income pet owners and feral cat spay/neuter vouchers programs.
Programs
Ddamien Project
The Ddamien Project, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, is committed to saving lives and adopting retired Military Working Dogs, Contract Working Dogs, and Law Enforcement Dogs. These dogs are traditionally unable to find a home once their service has been completed. The majority of dogs who come through the program cannot be adopted due to medical or behavioral reasons. After retirement, they will be with the organization for the rest of their lives.
Spay/Neuter Assistance
Herman Bennett Foundation Vouchers
The Herman Bennett Foundation is a private non-profit organization that offers vouchers to Ventura County residents who need financial assistance for spaying or neutering a family pet. The Foundation pays the veterinarian to cover the cost of the surgery.
Before surgery, your animal will undergo a brief exam and be administered pain medication. The procedure will be done in the same way as all other spay or neuters. There will not be any differences in how much care, attention, or materials used.
What is NOT included in the Herman Bennett spay/neuter voucher?
The voucher doesn’t cover any owner-requested medical procedures like blood work, IV catheterizations, fluids, aftercare, or any other medical complications. You can request to take home pain medication and an E-collar to protect your surgery site, these will be provided at your expense.
Furthermore, please inquire if there are any additional charges before you leave your pet since these will be your financial responsibility.
