Who They Are
CSU Spur’s Dumb Friends League Vet Hospital offers donor-subsidized services to sick and injured pets whose owners need financial assistance to cover the cost of treatment. Their goal is to prevent and alleviate suffering in pets and to keep families together.
You can also take a look at the pet grants from all the other states.
Who They Serve
They respect their clients and do not want to create barriers for clients if documentation is difficult, so they serve their clients on an honor system. Please contact one of their excellent veterinarians in the community if you are unable to pay for the care of your pet. The hospital can provide care thanks to the generous donations of the compassionate community.
Spay/Neuter Clinic Information
Please visit the Clinic Page for more information about their Spay/Neuter Clinic.
Metro Cat Street Team
The Metro Cat Street Team, a community-based program by the Dumb Friends League, connects residents of priority Denver neighborhoods to vital services for pet or feral cats. This includes spay/neuter procedures, vaccinations, and more.
Services
They provide emergency care for pets, cats and dogs, by appointment. This includes non-elective surgery and dentistry. They also offer same-day appointments. To schedule an appointment, please call 303.722.5800 in advance.
However, preventative and wellness care services are not offered at the moment.
Referring Veterinarians
If you have a client who cannot cover the costs of the necessary surgical procedure for an urgent condition, contact them in advance so that they can direct your client when the best time to come in. The doctor will evaluate the pet and recommend a treatment plan, which may or may not include surgery. All medical records are appreciated if you may bring them prior to your visit.
Please note that they do not have the ability to provide specialist care and can only offer a limited range of services. They don’t provide internal or exterior fracture repair, ligament repair, or medical management for chronic diseases processes, such as diabetes. They also do not provide critical care and have no overnight staff.
